The All-Paca Advantage

Alpaca fiber is naturally moisture managing, temperature regulating, odor-resistant, lightweight, flame-resistant, and hypoallergenic. Its features combine to create a material that is perfect for a comfortable garment that performs under extreme conditions.

Construction

  • Jersey Knit - 100% Alpaca fiber is knitted into a unique Jersey fabric that provides exceptional strength and recovery.
  • Lightweight - Ensures this is a shirt you'll never hesitate to throw in your pack.
  • “Regular Fit” Style - Not too snug and not too loose. It looks great and allows for a full range of motion.
  • Longer tail - Provides coverage and allows for free movement.

The Trail Seam™

The unique 100% Alpaca fiber fabric deserved a seam that would be worthy of the task. Our Trail Seam™ is a 3-needle, double-sided cover stitch meant to withstand the rigors of the trail, and to be low profile. We didn’t just use this robust seaming technique for the shoulders and the arms — we decided to sew the entire shirt this way.

Proper Care

Alpaca is a natural fiber with many great qualities, so it’s easy to maintain. Handle and store alpaca garments just as you would any wool garment. Alpaca is naturally resistant to bacteria and odors, so if you only wear your garment occasionally (and aren’t rolling around in the dirt) just hang it up, and only wash it as needed like any other wool item.

If you are wearing your All-Paca clothing for backpacking or hiking, and it obviously needs washing:

A. Do not use harsh, high-pH detergents. If your detergent contains “Washing Soda” or “Sodium Carbonate” or any ingredient described as “Alkaline builder”—do not use it. High pH is bad for natural fibers like alpaca or wool.

B. If you are in the backcountry — or if you don’t like commercial laundry detergents — you can even use a small amount of a natural liquid soap like the various natural “castile soaps” on the market. These products create a lot of suds—so don’t over-use.

C. Wash your All-Paca garments in a small load on a light or delicate cycle with cold water. Do not use bleach.

D. Do not tumble dry your All-Paca Garment. Alpaca Fiber doesn’t absorb much water, so just lay it out flat or hang it. If you are backpacking and rinse it out - just wear it to dry.

E. Softener use is based on personal preference. Be aware that softeners can interfere with moisture wicking properties of many fibers.
